About Ivan Wilson Group

The Ivan Wilson Group was founded by the late Ivan Wilson JP who began retailing petrol in the Waterside area of Coleraine in 1948. As war time rationing relaxed and the local economy began to prosper he saw an opportunity to expand into car retailing and convenience retailing and in 1969 he built our 3 acre site on the main Coleraine Limavady A37 road.

In 1978 Ivan Wilson made significant expansions with the acquisition of a Saab franchise and a Maxol Authorised Distributorship, thereby creating a group of businesses. As you can see from our list of activities above, we have since expanded to include several other businesses.

The full Saab franchise continued until 1999 when the rush of imported Saab cars made it unviable, but the business is still a Saab Approved Authorised Repairer which allows it to offer full service and warranty.
